Apartemen Sudirman Park

The strategic location of Sudirman Park is its main selling point. It is 45 minutes away from the airport, and less than 20 minutes from most offices and malls within the Central Business District of Jakarta (Kuningan, Mega Kuningan, Thamrin, Senayan, Sudirman, Setiabudi).

Sudirman Park is part of Tanah Abang, a major subdistrict of Jakarta home to:

Some major malls (Grand Indonesia, Thamrin City, Senayan City, FX Sudirman, Ratu Plaza), perfect for going out during the day or in the evening.
Dozens of skyscrapers and office buildings (mostly along Jalan Sudirman, Jalan Gatot Subroto and Jalan K. H. Mas Mansyur), such as BNI Tower, Intiland, Sahid Business Center, Menara Batavia, Menara Astra, Midplaza Complex.
In the west of Tanah Abang, the area is less developed and mostly residential. Many Betawi people live there, in low-cost houses. They are reputed to be conservative and religious.
The apartments of Sudirman Park are in the center of Tanah Abang, within a small “ruko” complex. The latter features a few useful shops, some services (cheap Indonesian restaurants, fast food, banks, travel, massage, laundry), and two schools (Lasalle College and London School of Public Relations). It is a rather pleasant and walkable area.

About 200 meters from there, you can go to Citywalk Sudirman by foot. There is not a proper sidewalk, unfortunately, but if you are careful you should be ok. This boutique mall has about 30 restaurants, a gym, an expensive supermarket (Papaya) and several beauty salons.

For anything else, you will probably need your own car or a taxi. Some places nearby worth mentioning are the universities Atma Jaya and STIE Perbanas; the malls Plaza Semanggi, Ambassador, Lotte and Plaza Senayan; the hotels Shangri-La, Ayana and Le Méridien; and the hospitals RSAL Mintoharjo, Siloam and RS Jakarta.

Transportation

By car, with normal traffic conditions, how far is it from:
– Jakarta Airport (CGK): 70 minutes
– Grand Indonesia Mall: 15-20 minutes
– Sudirman Business District: 10-15 minutes
– Kota Tua: 70 minutes
– Kemang: 40 minutes

There is a stop near Ambasador Mall, but it is not a very useful as you can only reach nearby destinations from there.

Is there a train station nearby?
Not really. The closest one is Tebet station, more than 4 kilometers away.

How about the MRT (Mass Rapid Transit) or LRT (Light Rapid Transit)?
No stations nearby.

The nearest toll road is 20 minutes away in Jalan Gatot Subroto.

Is it easy for taxis/Uber/Grab to find the location?
Yes, it is very famous. They can even pick you up directly at the lobby of your tower,

There are also plenty of non-AC buses that you can catch in Tanah Abang (to Bekasi, Blok M, Kampung Rambutan, etc).

Finally, you can take a DAMRI bus to Jakarta airport for only IDR40,000 in front of Thamrin City.

Is there a train station nearby?
Not exactly nearby. The nearest is Karet Station (10 minutes by car), which is a stop on the Yellow line going from Bogor/Depok to Jatinegara (via Pasar Minggu, Tebet, Manggarai, Senen). Tanah Abang station is even further but you can get the Blue line from there (to Serpong and Bintaro).

Transportation
Sudirman Park is along Jalan K.H. Mas Mansyur, an important road only 5 minutes from Jalan Sudirman (the most strategic street in Jakarta). You can also reach Jalan Gatot Subroto (to the airport or to East Jakarta), Jalan Tentara Pelajar (to South Jakarta) and the flyover Casablanca (to Tebet) rather easily. Because of these, going by car to or from Sudirman Park is very convenient.

If you don’t own a car, there is a Blue Bird taxi pool waiting outside the complex. Uber or Grab Car drivers are also allowed inside. All of them will know Sudirman Park.

Using public transportation is not as easy, but it can be interesting as long as you don’t mind walking 8-10 minutes to the nearest station, Karet.

Karet is a small Transjakarta halt, with 1 stop on the line 8C from Tanah Abang Station to Gandaria City Mall. What’s more useful is the KRL train stop that allows you to ride the Yellow line between Bogor and Jatinegara (via Tanah Abang, Angke, Pasar Senen).
